Project EOS Rise – Developer Diary #1: A New Signal

Over the past year, Project EOS Rise has been quietly evolving behind the scenes.

What started as a simple 2.0 rulebook update quickly became something much, much more.

As I began revisiting rules I had always wanted to refine, something unexpected happened. I got pulled back in completely. I found myself fixated on the game again, but this time it felt different.

This time, I had all of you.

The game had been out in the world. It had sold out across multiple regions. People were playing it, discussing it, and sharing feedback. Naturally, I started thinking about a reprint.

And that’s when it clicked.

This was the moment to take everything I’ve learned from designing, from playtesting, and from the community and apply it fully to Project EOS Rise.

What began as a rulebook update evolved into something much bigger.

A full redesign of the gameplay loop.

At that point, it no longer felt right to call it an update. This needed to become a true Second Edition rebuilt with intention from the ground up.

Some of my favorite games have gone through this kind of transformation. Arkham Horror is a great example, with each edition reshaping the experience in meaningful ways. That idea really resonated with me.

Another major part of this journey has been working alongside my best friend Neil. Having a co designer involved has brought a completely new energy to the process. It has been one of the most rewarding parts of this redesign and it has made the game better in ways I could not have done alone.

What started as a finished game has slowly turned into something I did not fully anticipate.

A second iteration that feels more focused, more intentional, and closer to what the game was always meant to be.

So if you have been wondering why things have been quiet, it is not because the game is gone.

It is because it is evolving.

And now I am finally ready to start sharing it.

Over the coming months, you can expect new artwork reveals, gameplay videos, global playtesting updates, and behind the scenes development.

I am incredibly excited about this next chapter of Project EOS Rise.
